Vietnam has made strong efforts to address the EU’s IUU yellow card warning since 2017, from improving legal frameworks to enhancing vessel monitoring and traceability. The upcoming EC inspection will be a decisive milestone. Lifting the yellow card is vital not only for export growth but also for the livelihoods of coastal communities and the long-term sustainability of Vietnam’s marine economy.
